Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog for Africa YMCA Youth Summit 2009. Young people from around Africa will be gathering in Addis Ababa from 28 Oct- 9 Nov to deliberate on an exciting Africa YMCA model called ‘Subject to Citizen’. It is time for young people to stop being the subjects of Africa – exploited and manipulated, and shackled in economic and political oppression. As youth, we will be exploring how to move to a state where we are citizens in our countries and continent. Where are voices are heard, where we have the space to make a difference and to influence decision-makers for positive change for the youth in Africa.

During the Summit we will post information to keep you all updated. Please share this link with your friends and associates and join the journey with us as we go forward for a better Africa.

  1. First i would like to thank African alliance and world alliance for this great initiations to bring this summit for the youth movement in Africa and i am personally so glad to see the summit in my home land country ,its great pleasure to welcome you addis ababa (new flower)a capital city of Ethiopia hopefully you will enjoy your stay here in addis ababa and make a great commitment for our youth movement of Africa.

We are all part of the society and so every individual decision can make an effect on our continent. Every one has a right to live equally. Every one has a responsibility to take care of the continent and it is our power to improve and sustainable Africa. so we the young generation are the concerned person to make a vision for our continent. And our vision is maintaining an environment on which relationship amongst people are characterized by love through striving for peace, social justice, gender justice, economic opportunity for all, youth empowerment, youth leadership and good governance for all parts of the globe.
so we are all the participant of the summit (subject to citizen)make a difference for our continent because we are the one and the only one to make a difference for our future Africa.
